Reveal Film ID. BUGGY Geneva Motor Show
The Return of a Legend
The ID. BUGGY embodies freedom, wind in your hair, and the salty taste of seawater on your tongue. Stars like Elvis, James Bond, and Steve McQueen drove it: the iconic beach buggy of the 1960s and 1970s. Now this cult car is making a comeback—fully electric. The new concept car made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show.
In addition to the full-scale film production—which included location scouting, filming, casting, and costume design—the main challenge lay in visualizing the ID. BUGGY itself: Since it was a design study, the vehicle existed solely in CGI, that is, as a fully 3D-generated model. So the question was: How do we integrate the “real” actors and actresses in the reveal film into a virtual car?
Since the ID. BUGGY is an open-top vehicle, we first created 360° body scans of the actors in a London studio. This allowed us to realistically integrate the actors into the driving scenes and make them appear lifelike during turns and dynamic movements.
