    Interactive LED Wall

    Telekom Project: Interactive LED Video Wall with Avatars on Düsseldorf’s Königsallee

    As part of an innovative Telekom project, an interactive LED video wall measuring 18 meters in width and 4 meters in height was installed on Düsseldorf’s Königsallee, attracting significant public attention. In front of this impressive backdrop, passers-by could move freely, with their body movements mirrored in real time by comic-style avatars.

    A special highlight of the installation was that the avatars reflected the real faces of the passers-by, making the experience even more personal and highly interactive.

    The LED wall, which was installed by Innlights Displaysolutions from Wuppertal, enabled this impressive visual experience. To transfer the movements and faces of passers-by to the avatars in real time, custom mounts for three stereoscopic cameras were developed and integrated directly into the LED wall. The real-time body tracking and the 3D avatars were prepared and implemented by Capture Media.

    In addition, passers-by were able to take a photo of their avatars and download it directly to their smartphones via a QR code. The combination of state-of-the-art technology and interactive experience clearly conveyed Telekom’s core message: “The more of you there are, the cheaper it gets.”

    This unique experience was the result of a successful collaboration between DO IT!, Capture Media, and Innlights Displaysolutions, and impressively demonstrated how technology and creativity can be combined to communicate a powerful brand message.
